Cable Cars, Hiking & Biking
Lying between the Matterhorn to the South and the Eiger to the North, the Aletsch Glacier is the largest glacier in Europe and lies at the heart of a classic alpine environment. Beneath the peaks lies the small village of Fiesch, an ideal base from which to get active in the Alps! You’ll travel by cable car from Fiesch onto Feischeralp for a panoramic walk and the chance to see some of the local wildlife. You then take to two wheels for an exhilarating ride down the valley – with the option of a more demanding route for those that wish.

Glacier Trek and Rafting
You’ll take the spectacular cable car ride to the summit of Eggishorn at 2927m. Then descend from the peak to the Aletsch Glacier below and take a guided walk onto the ice. With a hunt for minerals in one of the world’s richest mineral quarries and free time to enjoy the thrills and spills of white water rafting and visit Zermatt and the Matterhorn – this is alpine action at its best.

The Trip

Although it requires no previous experience. an ability to cycle is necessary to take advantage of the mountain biking, walking and rafting can be demanding, therefore a reasonable level of fitness is required to get the most out of this action packed holiday.

You will have: Hostel (7nts) The rooms in the hostel will be either twin or four bedded, with en suite facilities.

Your transport will include: Train, post/public bus, cable cars, bike, on foot

Your Itinerary

Day 1 - Fly to Zurich,transfer by train to Fiesch

Day 2 -Cable car to Fiescheralp, walk to Riederalp & visit Nature Centre

Day 3 - Mountain biking between Oberwald & Fiesch

Day 4 - Cable Car to Eggishorn; walk down and onto Aletsch Glacier

Day 5 - Free: optional excursions/activities

Day 6 - Looking for “Cat’s Gold” in a mineral quarry

Day 7 - White water rafting in Oberwald (optional)

Day 8 - Transfer to Zurich, fly to UK
