Swedish Lapland
A thrilling 5-day break in the frozen forests and lakes of Swedish Lapland, with a chance to enjoy a host of winter activities. Try your hand at dog and reindeer sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and ice fishing and stay overnight in the famous Icehotel. And, weather permitting, there's a very good chance of enjoying one of nature's greatest spectacles: the 'Northern Lights'.

DOGSLEDS & SNOWMOBILES
Based in the northern outpost of Kiruna, our adventure starts with a dogsled safari. With teams of huskies attached to each sled (plus a skilled local doing the driving!) we 'mush off' into the wilderness. There's also the option of snowmobiling cross-country and over frozen lakes towards Kebnekaise, Sweden's highest peak. Tonight - and every night - there's the chance to enjoy that most traditional of Swedish activities: a sauna.
REINDEER RIDES & THE ICEHOTEL
On a visit to Jukkasjarvi we overnight at the world famous Icehotel, where everything from the chandeliers to the glasses for your drinks is made of ice (here all the drinks are 'in the rocks'!). We can also play Father Christmas and ride our own reindeer sled, and enjoy a range of optional activities - from snowshoeing to cross-country skiing. The Realm of Santa has far more to offer than you ever imagined!
The Northern Lights
The 'Northern Lights' actually take on many different guises, variously appearing as huge sheets, pillars, wisps, haloes, or streaks of light, usually green, but also sometimes yellow or red in colour. Occurring when electrically charged particles from the sun's solar wind' come into contact with electrons in our own upper atmosphere, they create a mesmerizing natural light show beyond any possible firework display. Given clear skies and a cold night, there is an excellent chance of seeing the phenomenon on any one of the evenings during the trip. The best chance of seeing the Northern Lights is between November and end of February, although given the right conditions they can be viewed March and April
The Trip
Graded ‘easy’ An exciting and original winter break; the more strenuous activities are all optional. Minimum Age 5 years
Top Tips
If you wish to drive one of the snow mobiles remember to bring along your
