Introduction
An enthralling break for adventurers young and old in this volcanic land of glaciers, waterfalls and geysers. We explore rugged landscapes by Superjeep; hope to witness the surreal 'firework show' of the Northern Lights and, if the snow conditions allow, we can take to snowmobiles for a James Bond-style speed across the snow. We finish off with a dip in the steaming turquoise waters of the world famous Blue Lagoon.

Tour information
THORSMORK & THE NORTHERN LIGHTS
From the capital Reykjavik, we head off in outrageous 'Superjeeps' (complete with huge tyres and satellite navigation) on a wild ride into the valley of Thorsmork - a landscape of glacial moraine and lakes crackling with ice. On the return leg we drive across lava fields and, weather permitting, into the hills to find a point from which we hope to view the dazzling 'Aurora Borealis'.

WATERFALLS, GEYSIRS & BLUE LAGOON
A favourite optional activity is a tour of the region's natural wonders, including the towering waterfall of Gullfoss and Geysir, the spouting hot spring after which all others are named. Alternatively, if the snow is suitable, how about a snowmobile ride up in the hills (instruction and crash helmets are both provided). Then why not round off your adventure with a dip in the Blue Lagoon: bathtime will never be the same again...

Accommodation and Meals
3nts guesthouse; 3 breakfasts & 1 dinner included.
Transport
Bus/Superjeep.
Comments
A hotel-based trip - short, sharp, exhilarating and suitable for all abilities. The optional snow-mobiling trip is subject to snow conditions. The best time to view the Northern Lights is between October and March, although sightings are also dependent upon favourable weather conditions.
